You’ve all heard of Givi, but have you heard of Shad? If not, you will. They may be the new boys on the block, but Shad has features you can’t find with Givi. For example, a Universal Mount is included when you buy the top case and many cases come with backrests. Way to go Shad!

Tired of trying to locate your key each time you want to open your top case? Shad’s latch has two positions, closed or locked. With Shad you have fast easy keyless access to your luggage. You lock it when you want – or not. Don’t know about you, but I like the convenience of easy entry over the other manufacturer.

OK, so just how good is the quality? Well, Shad makes the OEM luggage for the BMW 1200 GS and KTM 950! Meaning, it’s their product you’re buying when you get OEM from the dealer! Not BMW’s, not KTM’s, and not Givi’s! Nice uh?!

Shad offers a great value for your money! None is nicer in quality or more feature packed. They are out to make a name for themselves and it appears they have the product to do it. Again, top cases come with a universal mounting bracket. You don’t have to buy it separately. The bracket attaches to and stays on your luggage rack. Your top case easily locks onto this mount in seconds for a secure fit. After your trip, its removal is just as easy.

Now, all bikes require a luggage rack. So, you need a luggage rack before you can mount the universal bracket for any top case. Also, if you have a sissy bar or passenger backrest, you may have to remove it to mount the top case – but that is the case with all manufacturers of top case products. While one Universal Mount is included with each case, extra mounts are available if you want to swap the case between bikes.

Top Cases are sized by their volume in liters. For example: SH 26 is 26 liters, SH 40 is 40 liters, SH 50 is 50 liters and so forth. Also, the SH 40 Cargo comes with an upper cargo rake for extra packing capacity so it is 40 liters plus.

Need a backrest pad for your top case? Many of the larger top cases come with a backrest pad – no charge. The pads are large and comfy. For example see the SH 50.

Will these cases fit on all bikes? Yes - if you have a luggage rack, you can get them on any bike. However, if you have a sissy bar, you may need to relocate or reconfigure the mount so the bar allows the box to mount or remove your sissy bar. The passenger should be fine using the top case in place of the sissy bar. Some bikes without luggage racks may need a special mount and Shad has most mounts for these installations.

What options do they have? How about extra colors panels, reflectors, lights, and lock kits? Oh yes, the easiest locks to match in the industry! If you get side cases, you will want them all keyed the same.

Bottom line, look at Shad before you buy. These are high quality units at a great price. And don’t forget – when comparing pricing against their competition, Shad includes the mounting hardware FREE - their competition does not.
